Old Barn Market

Description Old Barn Market, founded in 2008 by Karen and Jeff Allen in Chenango Bridge, began as Karen's hobby of canning and preserving gained popularity, leading to local sales at Otsiningo Farmer’s Market. The demand grew significantly, prompting Karen to resign from teaching to open a store focused on healthy, locally sourced food. With a commercial kitchen, the store expanded offerings to include canned goods, preserves, and gluten-free products, creating a year-round market for organic and local artisan items. In 2012, Old Barn Market and Gluten-Free Bakery opened, becoming Binghamton’s only locally minded market and the sole 100% gluten-free bakery, also bringing the first downtown grocery store since the 1990s. They accept SNAP benefits and aim to be a food hub for the community, further expanding in 2020 with the Old Barn Market Coffee Bar. Additionally, they raise chickens, rabbits, and grass-fed sheep for sale at the shop.
