Operating since 2008, Farming on Solid Ground is a small working farm with plenty to see on Open Farm Day: pigs, turkeys, meat chickens, egg layers, and their Jersey milking cows — Affagatta, Swiss Miss, and RibEye. They also offer a variety of farm products depending on the season, including honey, maple, hay, veggies, and more.

After exploring the farm, settle in at their coffeehouse featuring rustic hand-hewn beams, stone fireplaces, and live bluegrass music. Stop in for desserts, coffee, tea, and more. Lengel Farms raises beef and dairy cattle, Nigerian Dwarf Goats, pigs, ducks, and free-range chickens, and offers pasture-raised meats, eggs, and handcrafted goat milk soaps, lotions, and deodorants. On Open Farm Day, visit the animals, pet baby goats, and check out their tractors and harvest equipment on display. Be sure to stop by their store to pick up some products to take home.

A family-run farm in Hillcrest, NY,  Mallory’s Meadows is home to alpacas, Highland cows, goats, pigs, horses, and poultry. Explore at your own pace with educational signage, walking trails, and a family-friendly scavenger hunt with a prize for finishers. Don't miss the free fiber touch-and-learn table, where you can feel alpaca fiber and learn how it becomes finished yarn. Hands-on crafts and short animal encounters with photo ops available for a small additional cost. McManus Homestead is a family-run farm raising poultry with care, integrity, and respect for the land. You can also hold their chickens, ducks, and bunnies, tour their farm, and kids can enjoy activities and games!

Many of you may know New Leaf Cider Co. from the Broome County Regional Farmers Market — they now have their own tap room in Port Crane, NY! On Open Farm Day, enjoy a self-guided and learn how they turn New York-grown apples into handcrafted hard and non-alcoholic ciders. Stop in for house-made food and a selection of local craft beverages while you're there.

The Cluckery is the first home brewery in Windsor, NY — family owned and operated in the beautiful upstate mountains, with more than ten years of home brewing behind it. The vibe is country, classy, and laid back: rustic, light, and fun, with plenty of room for the whole family.

Wild Daisy Acres is a dairy goat farm in Whitney Point, NY, where soaps and lotions are handcrafted using milk produced right on the farm. Bring the whole family to the Windsor Land Lab for a fun-filled day of farm animals to meet, delicious food, fall-themed and children's activities, and face painting. Browse local vendors — including both area businesses and student entrepreneurs — and take home fresh produce grown by Windsor FFA students. All produce is available by donation only, with every donation supporting the school's agricultural education program.
